hey all please excuse typing I already have taken my contacts out LOL
it finally stopped raining here so I am puppy sitting so Crystal and Missy can take the Kayak to Seward and Homer for a 3 day weekend of sun and water. Crystal and Garrett have a 7 month old great dane and so I volunteered to stay home with all the dogs, the cats and ferret
They called and said they saw a pod of whales on the way down this morning in the Cook inlet. They said about 30 in the pod and that they looked like Baluga ? (not sure of spelling I have to goggle it when I am done here.)
They decided to kayak on a glacier lake near Whittier on the way to Sewerd and said they had a great time. They both said that their arms and shoulders are hurting from the 3 hour kayak. I have to laugh when they whine about it because they are starting to realize they are not 16 any more. Sucks to get old!
They are excited that their hotel is walking distance to the local pub in downtown Seward so my guess is they are not going to make an early start tomorrow what is your guess???
Garrett gets back home on the 24th so it will be good to see him. We are planning to spend some time with him then start the trip back down to the "lower 48" as they are called here. I think we will go through the west coast of BC on the way down and see Vancouver. We really have no made and firm plans yet.
Did I mention how happy I am that it stopped raining????I am so sick of the rain....last summer we were here 10 days and no rain...this year we are here 3 weeks and it rained every day.
I will follow with more pics once I get the camera from Melissa.
We have a Glacier Lake called Eklutna Lake about 10 miles from here so that is our place to go walk the dogs and swim Tye when we get a small break in rain. It is an 8 mile long lake with a biking walking trail cut along its shore so it makes a great walk for all of us. The pics were taken last week on one of our hikes there.
I will follow up with more pics from the girls when they get back.
